The Finance Director/Controller will report directly to the CEO/President and play a pivotal role in ensuring the overall financial health and sustainability of Copper Shores. You will align financial strategies with our organizational goals, maintain compliance with all financial regulations, and serve as a key member of our executive team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO.
- Administer and oversee all accounting activities including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
- Develop and implement internal accounting controls to safeguard organizational assets.
- Collaborate with CEO/President on annual operating budget, cost analysis, and financial projections.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, grants accounting, and general ledger management.
- Oversee timely and accurate payroll processing and compliance with payroll laws.
- Handle annual audits, liaise with external auditors, and ensure timely completion.
- Support CEO/President and Treasurer with various reports for committee review and Board presentations.
- Oversee the development of funding requests and grant proposal reviews.
- Develop and manage financial policies and procedures for efficient operations.
- Supervise and mentor finance and accounting staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Provide financial insights and guidance to the executive team and Board of Directors.
- Participate in executive team meetings, strategic planning sessions, and other key initiatives.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance, or a related field, with 3 years of practical accounting experience required; Master’s degree a bonus.
- Accounting experience administering a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation a bonus.
- Professional certification such as CFRE, CFA, CPA, CMA, or other relevant certifications a bonus.
- Excellent analytical skills with thorough knowledge of accounting principles.
- A strong leader that embodies collaborative relationship building and management skills.
- Demonstrated fiscal responsibility and budget management experience.
- Success in building partnerships within the business community.
- Experience in evaluating capital investment opportunities.
- Ability to work with banking and investment companies.
- Strong computer and accounting software skills required; familiarity with Sage Financial helpful.
- Experience with information systems selection and implementation for non-profit entities.
