STRATEGIC SYSTEMS PROGRAMS (SSP)

Summary

This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Duties

  • You will develop and maintain SWFLANT NWS Policy and ensure aspects of NWS are in compliance with DoDM S-5210.41 and SECNAVINST 8126.1B.
  • You will conduct policy reviews, make necessary revisions and coordinate changes with Security Operations LA/WRA Coordinators and requisite stakeholders.
  • You will represent the Security Operations Division in meetings regarding Limited Area (LA), Waterfront Restricted Area (WRA) and Convoy Route (CR) projects, plans and be prepared to provide NWS requirements IAW local and higher-level directives.
  • You will maintain Security Operations Division classified material.
  • You will serve as a Derivative Classifier for the creation of classified documents in support of security operations.
  • You will conduct inventories, create classified material destruction reports and destroy documents as required.
  • You will submit requisite reports to the Command Classified Material Custodian.
  • You will maintain Compensatory Measures Notice, review annually and revise as required to ensure security remains compliant with Nuclear Weapons Security Standard (NWSS).

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) and Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within two years of the date of hire.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Demonstrated expertise in reviewing and analyzing high-level Nuclear Weapon Security (NWS) policies to ensure implementation compliance, while providing program management oversight of Department of War (DoW) NWS deviation and clearance letter administrative workflows. This includes specialized experience in NWS project management, specifically regarding the development and execution of comprehensive security plans in accordance with (IAW) higher-level directives.

This announcement uses the Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) Business & Technical Management direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.



This position is part of the Department of Defense Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project. The NH-3 broadband level encompasses positions equivalent to GS-12 through GS-13.



Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees.



A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized.



This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program.
