Duties

  • You will serve as a technical expert for Information Technology (IT) in support of Marine Corps (MC), Department of the Navy (DoN), and Department of Defense (DoD) programs.
  • You will participate in the entire lifecycle of software applications, including design, development, testing, installation, and support, while also engaging in technical reviews and risk management.
  • You will apply analytical processes to plan, design, and implement new or improved information systems that meet customer business requirements.
  • You will conduct needs analyses, consult with customers to define requirements, develop system specifications, and prepare business cases for IT solutions.
  • You will manage or assist in managing complex IT projects, coordinating with various organizations for the planning, development, and implementation of new systems.
  • You will provide comprehensive support for all testing levels (acceptance, beta, unit, QA), manage concurrent development, and deliver user training.
  • You will formulate, recommend, and implement configuration management policies to document and control system characteristics throughout the development lifecycle.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance. Incumbents of this position are subject to pre-employment and random drug testing once employed.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 641 level Basic within 12 months of appointment.
  • This is a drug testing designated position.
  • This position is subject to polygraph examinations.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or NH-2 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Designing, developing, testing, AND/OR supporting IT systems, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, managing configurations, AND/OR coordinating with teams to deliver secure, functional solutions for Marine Corps and Department of Defense projects.
