Job Position: Theatre/Drama Teacher
Location: Rockford, IL 61107
Pay Rate: W2, hourly; starting at $32/hour & up (based on experience)

We are seeking a dedicated Theatre/Drama Teacher for a full-time, school-year position. What you’ll need:

Illinois PEL (Professional Educator License) with appropriate Theatre/Drama endorsement or related certification as required

Experience teaching theatre, drama, or performing arts in an educational setting preferred

Ability to create engaging, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate lessons

Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills

Passion for theatre education and student achievement
Key Responsibilities:

Foster students’ creativity, performance skills, and appreciation for the performing arts

Teach foundational theatre concepts, including acting, improvisation, stage presence, character development, and theatrical storytelling

Incorporate movement, voice, collaboration, and performance-based activities as appropriate

Assess and monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback

Prepare students for productions, performances, showcases, or other theatre-related events when applicable

Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment

Collaborate with school staff, families, and administrators to support student success
